Turning Dreams To Reality: Okpebholo Approves Record-Breaking ₦675 Billion 2025 Budget

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of ₦675 billion into law on Tuesday.
Fred Itua, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, disclosed this in a statement on the same day.
Governor Okpebholo, during the signing ceremony at the Government House in Benin City, emphasized that the budget aims to revive the state’s economy and provide the dividends of democracy to its citizens.
He highlighted that the budget was carefully structured, with a significant portion allocated to capital expenditure, underscoring the administration’s commitment to implementing large-scale capital projects in the coming fiscal year.
The Governor also praised the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, and other Assembly members for their swift passage of the budget.
He stated: “I have just signed into law a budget of ₦675,220,058,858.52, tagged the ‘Renewed Hope Budget for a Rising Edo.’ This 2025 approved budget is expected to rejuvenate Edo State’s economy and ensure the dividends of democracy reach the good people of the state.”
Earlier, Speaker Agbebaku, while presenting the bill, noted that the budget had been increased from the initial ₦605 billion to allocate more funds to the agricultural sector.
