As part of her strategic working visits to key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN.
The visit aimed to further strengthen the longstanding collaboration between both institutions in advancing secure and trusted identity verification within Nigeria’s corporate registration ecosystem.
The Registrar-General reaffirmed CAC’s commitment to deepening this vital synergy, describing the partnership as essential to enhancing the integrity, credibility, and security of corporate registration processes.
He emphasized that, in line with the provisions of the newly enacted NIMC Act 2026 and CAC’s regulatory mandate, it is now unlawful to approve any corporate registration where the identity cannot be successfully verified through NIMC’s identity verification infrastructure. He added that continued integration of NIMC’s digital identity system will significantly strengthen due diligence, curb identity fraud, and build greater confidence in Nigeria’s business registration framework.
The high-level engagement reaffirmed the shared resolve of NIMC and CAC to promote seamless inter-agency collaboration, robust identity management, and the Federal Government’s vision of a secure, transparent, and digitally enabled business environment in Nigeria.
