The Commissioner for Waterfront, Lagos State, Hon. Ahmed Kabir Abdullahi has hailed Lagosians for coming out en masse for the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Lagos yesterday. He also noted that Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu deserves a second term having delivered excellently during his first term in office.

Speaking in a brief chat with pressmen alongside with Trek Africa Newspaper yesterday after casting his vote at the polling unit in Agege, Lagos, Hon. Kabir Abdullahi shared: ‘I am born and brought up in Agege. The voting pattern has improved over last time. INEC has done a better job, the election materials were deployed early, they were in most polling units before 8am which is very commendable. The people started coming out to vote, and the turnout is higher. For me, my party, and my Governor, I know we are winning big time. It was a much better exercise though there is still room for improvement.’

On the challenges that APC experienced before the presidential polls, Hon. Abdullahi said: ‘There was a lot of infighting within the political party which affected the previous election but people have mend fences and there is huge turnout today. It will reflect on the entire result. What is important for me is the victory of my Governor and my party. We will win by a landslide.’

He shared his optimism about the imminent victory of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ‘The reward for hardwork is good work. Sanwo-Olu has done well. I don’t see any reason why the opposition should condemn his performance. They are engaging in frivolities. He has delivered in infrastructure. He has stood diligently for the people in times of need and has actually raised the bar of governance. Projects that have been on for like 40years like the blue line, red line, he has started work on it. The waterways, dredging of the channels, new channels are being constructed. It’s a new Lagos. It’s a better Lagos. We don’t expect anything different this second term.’

For Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidency, he told Trek Africa Newspaper, ‘We very much expect in Nigeria restored to factory settings to a Nigeria that will work. This is a man that has performed before. This is a man who delivered the blueprint by which Lagos is excelling today. We expect him to develop a similar blueprint for the entire country where we need agricultural production in large scale, mineral resources are explored and processed further for the international market.’

‘During the campaigns, he specifically harped on the potential of every state. He spoke about lake Chad in Borno, about River Niger in Niger state, when you look at this, you will know a man who has blueprint for the nation. Asiwaju is someone I have worked with. He deliberately initiates conversations among his lieutenants so he can get the best opinion to use. Before he adopts anything, he will bring it out for you to criticize it. Same thing we are experiencing with Sanwo-Olu.’

‘The incoming Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu coupled with Sanwo-Olu, I will say Lagos has never had it so good’, he concluded.
