President Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid a significant official visit to Bayelsa State, a visit that drew widespread attention and excitement across the Niger Delta region.
The one-day visit was marked by a warm reception from the government and people of Bayelsa, with the state declaring a work-free day and ordering the closure of markets to enable residents participate fully in welcoming the President.

The President arrived in Yenagoa to commission several key infrastructural projects executed by the administration of Governor Douye Diri. Among the major projects inaugurated were a state-owned gas turbine at Opolo-Elebele, a 60-kilometre dual carriageway stretching from Onopa to the LNG axis, and a 630-metre bridge linking Angiama to Oporoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
These projects are expected to boost economic activities, improve transportation, and strengthen development in the state.
The visit was seen as a major political and developmental milestone, highlighting the growing collaboration between the federal government and Bayelsa State.
Residents trooped out in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the President’s convoy and witness the historic event, making the atmosphere in Yenagoa vibrant and memorable.
