Police Clear AIG Zone 2, AIG Olorundare Jimoh In Ajiran Case, Hand Over Matter To Court

The Nigeria Police Force has cleared AIG Moshood Jimoh, Assistant Inspector-General in charge of Zone 2, of allegations linked to the Ajiran murder case, saying the matter is now before the court for determination.
The Force said the case had already been investigated and charged to court on the advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP, and will no longer be addressed through media trials.
CASE NOW SUBJUDICE, SAYS POLICE
In a statement released on Monday, August 4, 2026 by Force PRO, CSP Ani Iniedu, the Police said the criminal case involving AIG Jimoh had gone through due investigation and legal process.
“Because the case is now subjudice, it will be determined by the judiciary and the Force will not try it in the media,” the statement read.
The clarification followed recent allegations made on social media by activist Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, against the senior officer.
INTERNAL REVIEW FINDS NO BASIS FOR ACTION
According to the Force, as part of standard procedure, the AIG, Force Criminal Investigation Department, CID, had invited AIG Moshood Jimoh for questioning.
After a review of the matter, the Police said there was no basis for further administrative action and directed that the court process be allowed to continue.
VERYDARKMAN ASKED TO PRESENT EVIDENCE
The statement further revealed that on July 30, 2026, the Force CID Abuja invited VeryDarkMan to its Abuja office to present evidence to support the allegations he made publicly.
The Force urged him to honour the invitation and allow both the judicial and administrative processes to run their course.
“NO OFFICER IS ABOVE THE LAW”
Reaffirming its stance, the Nigeria Police Force said it remains committed to due process, discipline and the rule of law.
“Every officer is subject to the Constitution, the Police Act 2020 and Force Orders. No officer is above the law,” CSP Iniedu stated.
