Luwo, Telu And The Meeting Point
By Ibraheem Alli

His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Oluwo of Iwoland
I’m not a perfect chef but my parents taught me the rudiments of cooking beyond average. The home training prepared me to know more if not much. My preference for swallow food most especially Eba endears me to cooking. Unlike pounded yam, the easy and timely process involves in making eba The hot water has to reach a boiling point to make a good eba. Without boiling, you cannot enjoy the combination of hot water with Garri. When the water boils and meets with Garri, you enjoy it, better. Without the two meeting, you are not eating eba. Eba is the product of Garri and boiling water.
Telu Adekola was a product of Luwo Gbagida, the 16th and only female Olofin Adimula of Ife who sent his son on voyage to establish a promising land of truth, Iwo Luwo got a divine inspiration that her only son, Telu, should leave Ife with a crown and stop over wherever they found parrots (Eye Odidere). In obeyance to her mother, Telu, accompanied with entourage left Ile-Ife. He died but his people kept to the words of Luwo until the home of the parrot was discovered.

Luwo was the 16th Olofin of Ife. When her son, Telu, died, few of his retinues led without defying the order until the parrot was located. It was then Paarin was appointed the first Oluwo and wore the beaded crown.
In succession, 15 kings had ruled and died. The current, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi is the 16th Oluwo of Iwoland, a matching number with Luwo Gbagida who was also the 16th Olofin of Ife . Iwo was named from Luwo- in her honour. Oba Akanbi adopted Telu I when he was announced by the State Government. Oluwo claimed the Telu that left Ife with the crown has resurfaced.
The reigning Oluwo coronated on 16th January,2016, bore his child named Oduduwa on the 16th. Aside from Oduduwa, the father of the Yorubas, Oluwo has the other Oduduwa. When he recently had another child, a female, he named her Luwo Gbagida.
The rigorous adventure of yesteryears has yielded. The water has boiled and the meeting
point is Iwo, facilitated by Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi.
Today, the meeting point of Luwo Gbagida, Oduduwa and Telu is here. This is a material time for an Iwo son and daughter. Historical facts have revealed none of them worshipped deities. The old way of pure, unadulterated monarchy has been rejuvenated by Akanbi. Truth has come to prevail. Neither Oduduwa nor Luwo worshipped idol. There are messages and lessons. I enjoin the Yorubas to take note. A new empire is rising. The home of truth is growing. It’s time to enjoy the glory of the meeting should you genuinely trust the coincidence. The many developmental strides experienced within less than 8-year since enthronement are physical to the blind and audible to the deaf. Telu is on core monarchical course.
