LASIEC IS READY TO CONDUCT SATURDAY’S LOCAL COUNCIL POLLS -AYOTUNDE PHILLIPS

As Lagos State prepares for the local government and council election come Saturday July 24th, residents have been urged to shun voter apathy and come out enmasse to vote for the candidates of their choice.
Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, Retired Justice Ayotunde Phillips, made the call while featuring on Radio One breakfast show, “This Morning”.
Retired Justice Phillips who noted that preparations towards the Election was around ninety five percent completion, said smart card readers would be deployed for the Council Poll.
She encouraged those without permanent voter card to use their temporary card and stressed that the electorate must comply with Covid-19 protocols.
The LASIEC Boss assured the electorate of adequate provision of security before, during and after the Council Poll.
The local government election which is held every three years in Lagos will be conducted on Saturday July 24, 2021.
