-PAYS TRIBUTE TO HON. BAYO OSINOWO

The erstwhile Special Adviser on Food Security to the Governor of Lagos state Hon. Sanni Babatunde Okanlawon was yesterday Sworn in as Member of Lagos 9th Legislative Assembly.

Hon. Okanlawon who is representing Kosofe Constituency 1, was sworn in along with other 57 legislative members at the inauguration of Lagos 9th legislative Assembly which took place at Lagos state House of Assembly Alausa, Ikeja.

With his swearing in yesterday Hon. Okanlawon has now formally taken over the baton from the Lagos East Senator-elect, Hon. Osinowo who represented the constituency for 20 years.

At a well-attended thanksgiving party held for the constituents at Mende Town Hall after the inauguration at Alausa, Hon. Okanlawon, in his thanksgiving message, paid a glowing tribute to Hon. He said the 9th Assembly would sorely miss the astuteness and great contributions of the senator-elect while serving the people of Lagos East senatorial district at the upper chamber in Abuja.

Hon. Okanlawon therefore assured the constituents of his preparedness and worthiness to effectively fill the shoes left behind by the senator while thanking them for the immense
support given him to become their representative at the Lagos state House of Assembly.

He subsequently promised to take Kosofe constituency 1 to greater heights through quality representation that would accommodate all and sundry and sensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

He said: “I will establish and run a constituency office that will be opened to you all day. My programme of actions which will take its root from moving kosofe constituency 1 to the next level will include collective vision to transform our constituency into dream constituency.

“I shall invest more in people. Majority of our people will be taught how to fish, this, i am absolutely sure will reduce unpleasant practice of asking for fish always. Asking for fish is a poverty aggravation while teaching how to fish is poverty alleviation”

He therefore appealed to well-meaning people in his constituency to come forward with productive ideas and proposals that would create employment and alleviate poverty for the poor.

The thanksgiving event was graced by the executive chairman of Kosofe local government Hon. Afolabi Sofola and his executives; Mrs. Mariam Osinowo, Elder Oyedele, Chief Temionu, Mrs. Jumoke Animawun and host of other party leaders in Kosofe Local Government.
