The new Commissioner of Police in Lagos Command, CP Olanrewaju Ishola today paid his maiden official visit to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. Also present at the courtesy visit which happened at the Lagos House is the Board Member of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan among others.
Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who highlighted the trajectory of the former Commissioner of Police in charge of Western Ports Command, CP Ishola tasked him to give his best to the new job because much is expected of him. The Governor urged him to build on the success story of policing in Lagos.

The LSSTF Board Member and Chairman of Executive Group, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan who was in attendance at the brief meeting also urged him to build on the accomplishments of past CPs in Lagos even as he aims to improve upon them.
NAOSNP can report that the new Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Command, CP Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale is the 40th Police officer to sit on the helms of Lagos State Command. He pledged his commitment to service delivery during the brief visit to the Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Sanwo-Olu.

CP Olanrewaju Ishola joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1992. He holds a BSc in Geography and an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Ibadan. Amongst other trainings and educational pursuits, he has attended Tactical Leadership and Command Course, Police Staff College Jos, and Strategic Leadership and Command Course, National Institute of Police Studies Abuja.

He has served in numerous key positions, both operational and administrative, where he ensured law and order in some of the most challenging environments. These positions include: 20 PMF Ikeja as Unit commander/2i/c Sqd Commander (January 1996 – July 2002), 2i/c Sqd Commander 23 PMF Lagos (August 2002-July 2005).
CP Olanrewaju Ishola is an erudite teacher of policemen having taking roles in the Police training school such as Detective College Enugu (2011), Nigeria Police Academy Kano (2013) and Police staff College Jos (2019-2022).
His experience in Lagos spans decades, during which he successfully handled high-stakes situations such as the OPC Idi Araba and Abule Egba crises, establishing himself as a tactical leader with a deep understanding of Lagos’ unique security landscape.
