Bayelsa Merit And Enterprise Award has conferred on the member representing Sagbama Constituency III in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ebizi Ndiomu Brown the most outstanding Legislator of the year award.

Presenting the award to Hon.Ebizi Ndiomu Brown, Chairman of BAMA, Comrade Andrew Okpongu hinted that the award was conferred on the female Lawmaker in recognition of her resourceful contributions at plenary on the floor of the house and her performance index in all the positions she has held.

He said BAMA consider it imperative to recognize and take the lead to celebrate our own to correct the impression of allowing outsiders to tell the Bayelsa story.

In her acceptance speech, Hon.Ebizi Ndiomu Brown thanked BAMA for considering her worthy of the ward stressing that when people acknowledge and recognize you, it is an encouragement to do more.

She described Sagbama Constituency III as an area with intellectuals, hard working people and great farmers. The female Lawmaker commended Governor Douye Diri for connecting the riverine communities in the area with roads adding that the miracle governor has restated his commitment to complete the long abandoned NDDC road in the area.

She noted that apart from oil and gas, the people should be encouraged to farm and produce more products which will enable them to sell, and generate revenue.

When asked on how she will use her office to empower female politicians and the girl child in the constituency, Hon.Ebizi Ndiomu Brown said it goes beyond females in her area but the state in general.

She pray God to give her the enablement to produce more women in politics and expressed commitments to mentor greater number of women in her tenure

Earlier in his remarks, the Organising Secretary, Elliot Zamide informed that BAMA is a platform of media practitioners who identify people that have made their marks in various fields of human endeavours for conferment of awards as a means to encourage them to offer greater service.

He thanked Hon. Ebizi Ndiomu Brown for accepting the award.
