Face of Trek Africa Queens Arrived Republic of Liberia

Three Beauty Queens from Nigeria, Uganda and Namibia under the management of Mr. Oki Samson, the Project Director for “Face of Trek Africa Beauty Pageant” arrived in Liberia on Friday as guests of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP).

A delegation comprising of the Queen; “Face of Trek Africa” and the first two runners-up of TREK Africa Beauty Pageant and the ECOWAS Youth Envoy are expected in Liberia beginning Friday, August 3, to Tuesday, August 7.

While in the country, they are expected to embark on series of nationwide initiatives, including discussion surrounding hosting the “Face-of-Africa Beauty Pageant” scheduled to be hosted soon.

The Face-Of-Africa Beauty Pageant is TREK Africa/ECOWAS’ signature “talent-hunt” for supermodels and beauty queens who are crowned to help the Pan-African organization (ECOWAS), effect social change across Africa.

Liberia is poised to host this upcoming beauty competition following this assessment visit, according to a statement issued in Monrovia on Thursday..

The ECOWAS Youth Envoy will coordinate with the Government of Liberia through the Monrovia City Corporation and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to host the “MCC-LIFT Liberia Inspire Youth Conference.”

The conference is expected to bring together over 350 youth leaders and change-makers, mainly females from universities, high schools, youth organizations, and public and private institutions.

The one-day event, which will be held on Saturday, August 4, at the Monrovia City Hall, will afford young people the opportunity to listen to the stories of the visiting queens, national leaders and other speakers on fascinating topics ranging from leadership, governance, fashion, arts, sports, governance, and business, amongst others.

The Advisor on Education to the President of ECOWAS, and Ambassadors of Nigeria, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Uganda are among dignitaries expected to attend the MCC-LIFT Liberia Inspire Youth Conference.

Sunday, August 5, will see the hosting of the ECOWAS Queens’ Independence Show.

The show is meant to provide the platform for public interaction with the visiting Beauty Queens as well as Miss Liberia and other Queens, representing Universities, Institutions and Counties.

Local artists and comedians are expected to perform during the occasion in the Ball Room of the Monrovia City Hall.
Additionally, the visiting ECOWAS delegation will conduct a one-day stakeholders’ Dinner on Monday, August 6, intended to enable the visiting queens understand the workings of Government, enjoy Liberian culture in music, comedy, and fashion.

The queens are also expected to meet with officials of government, including Ministers of Gender, Education, Information, Youth and Sports, the Cultural Ambassador, local queens, and members of the Fashion and Entertainment industries.

The climax of their visit to Liberia on Tuesday, August 7, will include a guided tour of tourism sites in Liberia, including the Kpatawee Water Fall in Bong County, Providence Island in Montserrado County, and Lake Piso in Grand Cape Mount County, amongst others.
