Abiola, Akande, Yakassai, Olunloyo, Odumakin, others’ appointments: Civil Societies hail recognition of Heroes of Democracy by Government

As Nation and this Group are about celebrating MKO Abiola Self Declaration as 1994 President – Elect @ 30 inside the old Epetedo Hall, Lagos Island, Lagos State, Son and Daughter of late President MKO Abiola, GCFR, Alhaji Jamiu Abiola and Ms Aderinsola Abiola have been appointed as Special Assistant on Special Duties and Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership respectively by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
It will be recalled that June 12 @ 30 World Press Conference was held last year in Abuja by this same Platform under the Chairmanship of late Hero of June 12, Chief Frank Kokori with Alhaji Asari Dukobo and notable others in attendance. MKO Abiola lives on!
It’s no longer news that our dear Doctor Sister and Osun State former Commissioner for Health, who doubles as Daughter of former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande’s, 85, Daughter, Dr Temitope Ilori, PhD, MBBS has been appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Director – General, National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) with Initial Term of 4 years starting from 22/02/2024 .
Dr Temitope Ilori is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine, University of Ibadan, and a Consultant Family Physician in the Department of Family Medicine, University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr Ilori obtained her MBBS degree from the University of Ibadan and had her residency training at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria.
She graduated as the best graduating Fellow of the Faculty of Family Medicine, West African College of Physicians in April 2012 winning the A.O. Senbanjo Prize. She is also an Associate Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN). Dr Ilori has a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) and a Master of Science (MSc.) Degrees in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a PhD Fellow at the Department of Family
In the same vein, our good friend and Brother from far North, Mallam Abdullahi Yakassai, Son of founding father of Arewa Consultative Forum, Elderstateman and Defender of Democracy, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, 98, and Dr Kemi Olunloyo, Daughter of former Governor of old Oyo State, Dr Omololu Olunloyo, 89, were appointed Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement, North West, and Special Adviser on Drug Abuse Education respectively by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR while Daughter of June 12 Activist, Media Guru and former Presidential Aide, Senator Femi Ojudu, Miss Moremi Ojudu anchors Community Engagement for Mr President in the Southwest Zone.
Former National Association of Nigerian Students’ (NANS) President, Comrade Sunday Ashefon, was appointed by President as Senior Special Assistant on Students’ Engagement while a notable member of the defunct Civil Societies’ Directorate of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, FCT, Abuja, Hon (Barrister) Orji Uchenna Orj became Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State and the Hon Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi.
Odumakin @ 3: As we are celebrating 3rd year’s rememberance of our late friend and Brother of Decades in the democratic struggles, Comrade Yinka Odumakin today, we are happy to announce that his widow, our Iron Lady in the Civil Societies, former President of Campaign for Democracy (CD) and Leader, Women Arise, Dr Joe Okei Odumakin, ha been appointed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State as member of the Lagos State Palliative Distribution Committee representing Civil Societies in the Committee.
These are the worthy appointments based on pure merit because they have all paid their dues through their parental backgrounds and individually too. It’s our prayer that God Almighty make them stepping stones unto their greater glories
