Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Christopher Musa has directed Nigeria’s service chiefs to visit the North-West and North-East to review and strengthen military operations amid escalating terrorist attacks.
Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has directed the country’s service chiefs to visit the North-West and North-East regions to review and strengthen ongoing military operations. The directive was issued during a meeting held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting between the minister and the service chiefs focused on the growing security challenges affecting the two geopolitical zones, where terrorist and bandit attacks have continued to pose serious threats to communities and security forces. The visit is expected to provide firsthand assessment of the situation and guide adjustments to military strategies in the affected areas.
Timothy Antigha, the media adviser to the minister, told TheCable that the service chiefs would submit reports after their visit to the security-challenged zones. In recent weeks, there has been a surge in attacks by terrorists, with several military bases targeted and a number of personnel reportedly killed during the assaults.
