*Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos President Advocates ‘No-Multi Language-No-Political Office’ Philosophy for Nigeria.

‘I call him the first and best governor. The most difficult thing to do is to promise and fulfill to your tribe and even promise and fulfill to other tribesmen. This is exactly what Babajide Sanwo-olu has demonstrated to us’ were the words of Chief Solomon Aguene as food gifts were delivered to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos during the 2020 Eid el Kabir celebration.

Governor, Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Though Igbos are predominantly Christians, it is important to note that there are also Igbo Muslims based in Lagos with Chief Abdulazzi Chibuzor Ude, as the Leader of South East Muslim who is also a Member of the Elders Council Ohanaeze Ndigbo. He reside in Ikoyi Lagos. It’s because of the God’s sent Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu that, the State government has duly recognized Igbo Muslim in Lagos, ‘It is now that Lagos got it right to approach the umbrella body of all Igbos in Lagos, the Association we’re delivered with food items such as rams, bags of rice, and groundnut oil. It has never happened before. It’s only when you’ve reached Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos that you’ve included all Igbos in your affairs in the State and not only those few Igbos in the political party that benefit in the past.’

He added: ‘What Sanwo-olu has done is the perfect way to move Nigeria forward. His policies and activities has been done for everyone. The way I am appreciating him is the way Yorubas and Hausas are appreciating him. That is what is lacking in many of our political leaders. We came to the world to meet religion. We are first human beings before religious beings. As Igbos, before foreigners came, we are serving God, we used kola, palm wine and others in our worship. And when foreigners came with their mode of worship, we followed because we know that God is One, that He is working even though no one has seen Him.’

‘I came into Lagos in 1984 through my Uncle, then at Maroko and we didn’t care and I don’t know the difference between Igbos, Yorubas, or Hausas because, we were all leaving as one big family in a yoruba man’s house, he feeds everyone like his families. We just know that this person is my senior, this person is my age mate so that we can accord respect to ourselves, but suddenly things changed. I’m surprised the changes this days, I Can’t understand till date. We need to go back to those times. Look at lions they don’t eat themselves. That’s what we as humans with our intellect should learn from them’

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos President further shared some ideas that he believes will offer panacea to tribalism and also ensure that tribalistic tendencies are curtailed in Nigeria. He said:
‘I am advocating a philosophy that between now and 2040, all our children should be taught the 3 major languages in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. If Nigerians can follow this wise philosophy of mine, you will see that all the children born between now and then will not have this tribalistic feelings. It will make this nation one, anything short of this won’t help this Country.’

‘We should also make it a policy that anyone who wants any political office should understand the three languages so that we can kill tribalism and tribal affiliations’, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene concluded.

Long Live Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Long Live Lagos State

Long Live Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos

Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
