A former House of Representative member and All Progressives Congress(APC) Ekiti Governorship Aspirant, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, has congratulated the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi on his emergence as the party’s flag bearer for the July 14 governorship poll.

Bamidele predicted smooth victory for the APC in the coming election, reminding that this would only be attainable with unity of purpose and cohesiveness within the party’s ranks.

Fayemi garnered a total of 941 votes to defeat other 32 contenders in the keenly contested APC governorship primary conducted in Ado Ekiti on Saturday 12th May, 2018.

In a statement he personally signed on the victory, Bamidele prayed for divine wisdom and wherewithal for the former Governor to be able to record success in the task God has again placed on his shoulder.

He described Fayemi as a consummate politician with vast experience in administration, being a former Governor and serving Minister, exuding confidence that the Minister will deliver and bring the lost glory of the party back in the coming election.

Bamidele urged the Minister to see the victory as divinely ordained and not just a personal popularity or acceptability among party members.

He urged him and other party leaders to immediately initiate a fence-mending move to pacify all the aggrieved and unite all the existing caucuses within the party for the dream to reclaim Ekiti from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to come to fruition.

“Let me salute the former governor and Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for this sweet victory. With the body languages of all the aspirants, it was evident that your victory was acceptable and grudge-free.

“The foregoing signposted that the APC is a party with unique operations among the political parties in Nigeria.

“A major political contest, particularly a fierce one like the Ekiti APC primary, can’t but elicit disagreements. But with sincerity of purpose, all these can be resolved for our party to move forward.

“I want to salute the aspirants for their steadfastness and self-confidence even in the face of daunting odds to contest for the primary. Time has come now for us to act like real leaders as well as true Patriots and sportsmen for the sweet victory to benefit our party members, who had endured this arduous times to be with our party.

“Though, our ambitions may differ but the purpose is one, which is to render selfless service to our dear State to engender economic prosperity and turn Ekiti to a land of abundance in line with the dream of our founding fathers.

“I want to urge our members to be committed to the task ahead, because winning Ekiti is a collective and patriotic task we must achieve for Ekiti to join the comity of progressive States in the country”, he said.
