Ahead of the upcoming National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Chairman of the APC National Convention Venue Sub-Committee and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, led a high-level inspection team to Eagle Square, Abuja, on Thursday.
The team included the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu; the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd); members of the security committee; and other key stakeholders. The visit was aimed at assessing the level of preparedness for the party’s crucial national event.

Speaking after the inspection, Governor Abiodun said the team undertook a comprehensive evaluation of the facility, focusing on logistical arrangements and security architecture already being put in place. He noted that the exercise also afforded the security committee and stakeholders the opportunity to review operational readiness, access control, crowd management measures, and emergency response coordination.
“We are encouraged by the level of preparation recorded so far and remain confident that, through effective collaboration and thorough planning, Eagle Square will be fully ready to host a convention that reflects the unity, strength, discipline, and organisational capacity of our great party,” the governor stated.
The convention, scheduled to hold at the iconic Eagle Square, is expected to draw party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country.
