The reward of hard work, they say, is more work. This aptly describes the case of Mr. Abdul-Akeem Ayodeji Amodu who was just appointed to become the Senior Special Assistant (Housing) to Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu
With an enviable record of service garnered over the years in public service, Mr. Amodu was appointed in line with the Governor’s determination to identify, recognize and engage professionals for the task of building a greater Lagos.
Trek Africa Newspaper gathered that, until this well-deserved appointment, Ayodeji was a Chief Administrative & Human Resources Officer (HR) in Local Government Service Commission (LGSC). He rose to senior management level in the commission since joining in March 2004 after passing on merit all examinations and interviews at different cadre.
He was a one-time Clerk of the House and Head of Department, Legislative arm of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government. He also served as the First President of the Local Government Service Commission Area Officer’s Forum (LOGSCAOF).
The thoroughbred public administrator is also a trained and chartered estate surveyor and valuer. Abdul-Akeem places high premium on human capacity hence he takes time to attend trainings to better himself as a Human Resource professional. He has attended several Seminars/ Workshop both Home & Abroad as well as organized and structured training in administrative and human resources skills.
Prior to joining civil service, Mr. Ayodeji Amodu had worked with leading real estate organisations in Nigeria and abroad between 1998 and 2004 where he gathered experiences in Project Development, Valuation, Facility Management, Property Development, Financial Advisory services, Estate Agency, and Sales and Lettings practices.
Ayodeji Amodu is a fellow, associate and member of many professional institutions such as Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers, Nigerian Institute of Management, Institute of Administration of Nigeria, International Institute of Forensic Investigation & Accounting, Chartered Institute of Professional Managers, and International Facility Management Association.
An honorary Award of Ambassador for Peace was conferred on him by Universal Peace Federation (UPF), due to his contribution to Peace and Conflict Resolution.
