Tragic Incident: Nigerian Navy Officer Kills Colleague In Zamfara Dispute

A source informed SaharaReporters that a confrontation between two personnel from Team 3, previously known as Operation Hadarin Daji and now renamed Operation Sheto Yanma, escalated into violence when Leading Seaman Akila shot his colleague during an argument.
The incident occurred early on Friday morning, around 6 a.m., in Dansadau, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to the source, the altercation involved two naval personnel, resulting in LS Akila firing at his colleague. “This morning at about 6 a.m., two naval personnel were arguing, and one fired at the other in the Dansadau community,” the source stated, noting that LS Akila was the shooter.
Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, later confirmed the shooting. He reported that at approximately 3:12 a.m. on October 25, LS Akila A, stationed at FOB Dansadau for Operation Fansan Yamma, discharged his weapon, killing a fellow serviceman under questionable circumstances.
