This is what best described the love bestowed on the industrious and ever-dynamic Lagos State House of Assembly member, Hon. Adedamola Kasumu who gave account of his 1160 days in office. ARK as the young and vibrant politician is fondly referred to was welcome with warmness by the political stalwart of Ikeja constituency 2 as they held 2018 constituency stakeholder meeting with Theme “Towards Peaceful and Credible Elections” the theme according to organizers was in furtherance of the unflinching commitment of the leadership of the house under the partnership of Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa in ensuring that people have meaningful representation through good governance.
Hon. KasumuThe event, Hon. Kasumu was endorsed by the youth and elders of the constituency to carry on the good work he started. “Since the last stakeholder meeting in 2017, the house have continued to improve on law making drive and process by reviewing and amending the old legislations and initiating new ones where necessary to meet current needs. And till date, we have considered forty-one 41 bill and passed thirty into law which are effectively addressing various challenges and developmental activities in the state.”
Hon. Kasumu reiterated It will interest you to know that Hon. Kasumu sponsored two executive bill in 2017 Titled; A bill for a law to provide for establishment of Lagos State sports commission and for connected purpose (2017) and a bill for a law for establishment of Lagos State sports trust fund and for connected purpose with the approval of Mr. Speaker and the corporation of other legislators these Executive bills were passed in January 2017 and signed into law of Lagos state by His Excellency, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode on 1st February 2017.
In case you don’t know, ARK is the only First term lawmaker to achieve this feat in the 8th Assembly. Under the new Lagos State sport trust fund, Hon. ARK has facilitated two major sport facilities to Ikeja constituency 2. This facility is known as ASTRO TURF and will be built for the benefit of all at Ikeja, Adeniyi Jones Primary School and Agidingbi Junior Grammar School opposite Mega Chicken or Babs Fafunwa Millennium Grammar school Ojodu.
Meanwhile, contrary to the erroneous impression being circulated, Hon Kasumu operates an open-door policy giving a standing instruction that anyone from Ikeja constituency 2 who is identifiable should be given free access to his office.
