Every 12th of August is a day known globally for the celebration, appreciation and adoration of the youths as the emerging, innovative and dynamic youths in our way of building a better tomorrow today.
“Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health” is the theme of this year’s theme. This year’s theme for the International Youths Day is specially designed globally to combat defect in the security, production, quality and quantity of food in relationship with how the innovation of the youth can help in transforming the food systems.
Innovation is a key point of evolving the world, not only about ICT but diversifying it into food systems too. It is time to charge the youth in ensuring they’re involved in finding solution to food related problems in our immediate communities. If every community gets solution to food challenges, we will have a more healthy world while the Youths innovators are making living for themselves and others.
There still huge opportunities in food systems everywhere in the world. Food production, processing, transportation, marketing, advertising and distribution are some areas our youths can use their energy, education, innovation, technology, skills and creativity to get the best of agricultural and food sectors.
There is no doubt that the youth is our strength and hope for a greater Lagos State as we have been experiencing. Through the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Somolu Local Government Department of Agriculture and Social Services, we will be rolling out more youth oriented programmes for the development of our communities in line with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s project T.H.E.M.E.S.
We commend the Youths of Lagos State, we appreciate the Youths of Somolu and we will continue to make you all proud of the Mayor himself, we have more reasons to celebrate more International Youth Day with more accomplishments and success recorded for the Youths in our community and Lagos State at large.
