Picking up his certificate of return alongside 56 other LGA/LCDA chairmen yesterday was the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede Almoruf. Thereafter, he was sworn in by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
Sharing his plans and programmes with Oki Samson of Trek Africa Newspaper during the ceremony, the Chairman Kehinde Oloyede Almoruf Popular called KENDOO affirmed: ‘Oshodi-Isolo should expect new innovation. I am bringing in a business mindset into the council. Then, the rebranding of Oshodi-Isolo so that when you think Oshodi you don’t think hoodlums.’

He added: ‘We will be embarking on improvement of infrastructure. We want to take care of the inner roads that lead to the state roads. The state government has done a lot to help us in providing some facilities to the advantage of Oshodi-Isolo LGA. And we are going to look at our schools, refurbish the schools and our health centre. We are planning to build cardiac centre for people with any cardiac issue and mother-and-child care. We are empowering our people too with skills and those that pass through the local government scheme, we will empower with monetary gifts to set up, so in a way, we are providing employment.’
On how he intends to boost internally generated revenue, Oloyede Almoruf noted: ‘The first thing we need to do is provide facilities. I believe people are going to pay when they see facilities. When we call them about revenue generation, they would have seen what we have done and it won’t be like business as usual when they will come and collect money and not do anything. So we will make them believe that we are here to work not to play.’
