Truck Driver, Motor Boy Arrested For Allegedly Beating Man To Death

The Ogun State Police Command announced on Saturday that it has apprehended a truck driver, Olalere Timileyin, and his motor boy in connection with the death of a man who was allegedly assaulted for stealing a tarpaulin.
The police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests in a statement sent to journalists. According to the statement, the incident occurred on Friday, December 13, at around 3 am, when one Alao Fadipe from Iyana Ikereku reported seeing a fight on the road in front of his house in Obada Oko, Abeokuta.
Fadipe told police that when he arrived at the scene, he saw Timileyin, a truck driver working for a cement factory in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area, and his motor boy allegedly beating a man who was accused of stealing a tarpaulin. The victim reportedly lost consciousness from the assault.
In response to the complaint, police detectives from Obada Oko swiftly arrived at the scene and arrested the driver and his motor boy. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
