Troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA Rescue Six Family Members in Zamfara

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attempted abduction and rescued six members of a family in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation followed actionable intelligence received by the troops about an ongoing attack by armed terrorists who were attempting to abduct members of the family.
According to the military, the troops immediately mobilised to the location after receiving the report and arrived while the attack was underway.
The troops engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon their abduction attempt and flee the area.
The swift intervention enabled the troops to rescue all six family members safely. The victims were reportedly unharmed during the operation.
Following their rescue, the six victims were evacuated to a secure facility, where they are undergoing preliminary assessment and receiving necessary care and support.
The military said arrangements are also being made to safely reunite the rescued family members with their relatives.
The successful operation underscores the continued efforts by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to respond rapidly to intelligence on terrorist activities, disrupt abduction attempts and protect civilians across the North-West.
