Troops Grab Wukari’s Most-Wanted Kidnapper, Hunt for Abducted Fulani Man Intensifies…

‎In a major sting operation that underscores the heat of Operation Zafin Wuta, troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have arrested a notorious kidnap suspect long feared across Wukari and its surrounding communities.

‎The arrest, confirmed in a statement by Lt. Umar Muhammad, the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, “occurred on 22 November 2025 after troops tracked down Umar Musa Geyi at Jandei-Kulamu in Wukari LGA. Geyi has been a prime target for security agencies over his alleged role in a ruthless kidnapping network.

‎”Investigations so far show he is directly linked to the abduction of Alhaji Jano, seized on 13 November 2025 and still being held by the gang. Troops nabbed the suspect while he was on a phone call demanding ₦20 million ransom, during which he confirmed the victim remained in captivity”.

‎Army authorities say he is now in custody as interrogations continue to pinpoint the victim’s exact location and speed up the rescue mission.

‎Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, hailed the troops’ swift action, vowing that the Brigade will sustain the offensive against criminal elements across Taraba State. He called on the public to stay alert and feed security agencies with credible intelligence.
