Dr. Chris Ngige, the Hon. Minister for Labour said he is in the same category with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu while responding to Hon. James Faleke’s questions committee on the anomalies going in his ministry.
He even bragged to be a Senator like Asiwaju Tinubu the political mentor of Hon. Jame Abiodun Faleke and a two-term Governor like him while Asiwaju was never a minister like him.
What struck my mind was nothing but the selflessness, sacrifices, and giving others platform to really explore which Asiwaju stood and known for.
Even when many of Asiwaju’s contemporaries are still thinking about themselves and for themselves alone, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is thinking for others which is the hallmark of productive leadership.
Despite what seems to be an achievement to Dr. Chris Ngige based on the track records he is parading in public governance, he failed to realize that leadership is about building others which no doubt describes the ENIGMA Asiwaju he berated.
Is it not a shame that Dr. Chris Ngige despite his political resume is still standing before a political mentee of Asiwaju to give an account of how he is managing his ministry?
Is it not a shame to him that many Asiwaju’s proteges are in the same rank with him even in the current dispensation?
Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, a two-term Governor of Lagos State and now a two-term minister is in the same category as the former Abia State Governor.
The current Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Served as a commissioner in Lagos under Asiwaju when Ngige was Governor.
Fast forward, Ogbeni Aregbesola became Governor of Osun state for solid Eight years and now a minister in the same capacity as Dr. Ngige.
What is Dr. Chris Ngige bragging about?
The Vice President of the Federation who is a Boss to Dr. Chris Ngige served under Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Attorney General of Lagos, so, what is the pride of Dr.Ngige about?
The Speaker of the 9th House under whose leadership committee Dr. Chris Ngige was quizzed is also a product of Asiwaju political leadership, why the undue and inconsequential comparative without meaning.
The difference is that Asiwaju vision and mission is deeper and larger than many of his mate and while he is still much relevant than they are.
His relationship with Mr. President is as a result of his elderly statesman position attained and also as the national leader of the party but not subordinate as Dr. Chris Ngige.
