The Milestone Journey: From Petitioner To Senior Special Assistant To Lagos Governor; ACP Yinka Egbeyemi Hails Ibrahim Jagaba’s Appointment

It was a usual morning with usual routine that year.
The screening began as usual after the last night Operation.
The innocents were discharged and armed with transport fares to take them back home. Some were even blessed with little token for breakfast. A very rare and uncommon action according to those who were standing to witness the screening.
Few metres away from those Spectators was Seriki Ahmed Kuraja, the Serki Overall of Alimosho in Lagos state. He was standing, watching keenly with some of his Entourage.
Among these Entourage was Late Auta and the Actor and subject matter of this Article… Comrade Ibrahim Jagaba, the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant On Arewa Affairs in Lagos State.
Before that day, I have received several petitions on my table. Those directly to me on the activities of our men and those against me through the higher Authority, against my person by Ibrahim. None of these petitions was able to fly due to the frivolous and biased nature they all carried.
The Petitions wanted us to desist from raiding what the Government and the good people of Lagos State detested… The Apprehension of Motorcycles on prohibited routes. A menace we were determined to eradicate totally then.
After the screening, I ushered the Seriki and his Entourage into my office to listen to what has brought them to our office.
While seated, I saw the Seriki facing Ibrahim and speaking in Hausa Language that; “What I just witnessed outside is not the narratives given to me about this man. I have never seen any head of a government enforcement agencies, personally listening to suspects, screening out the innocents and giving them transport fare back home and money for feeding”.
Unaware to them, i understood everything he has said because of my Agege background among the Arewa Community. He later turned to me and we spoke at full length on the way forward and promised to engage their people on the Dos and Don’ts of the Lagos State Government concerning the riders.
Since then, we developed a very powerful relationship till date.
THE DISCOVERY:
What Ibrahim Jagaba (The Petitioner) did not know was that, i studied virtually all his petitions. I was amazed to see an Arewa man to write fantastically well. Initially, I thought the writeups were handy work of a Lawyer until I met him in person with Seriki. I decided to unlock the Talent in him which he was not aware of or been able to discovered by himself. I decided to offer him a job in our department to assist in engaging the Arewa riders on advocacy.
Ibrahim accepted the offer wholeheartedly. He was initially posted to the Environmental department but still seeing the great potential in him, i transferred him to join Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, the head of the Media department.
In December 2020, when I was moved to head another department, Ibrahim was moved along with me and also joined Mr. Nasir Malik in the Media department. Since then, our relationship became stronger. I encouraged and guided him on the strategic nature of the Government Profession which he extended to manage and monitor the Arewa Community affairs in Lagos state.
In September of 2026, I heard the news that Ibrahim Jagaba was appointed as The Senior Special Assistant on Arewa Affairs in Lagos State by the Governor. I was not surprised at all because I know the appointment is just a stepping stone to what God has in stock for him in Lagos State.
