Son of late icon of democracy, Chief M. K. O. Abiola, Abdulmumuni Abiola has today recounted the good deeds of President Muhammadu Buhari for adorning his late father with the GCFR title posthumously about a year ago. In the remarks he granted Trek Africa Newspaper, the young Abiola noted: ‘You have done the remarkable, Sai Baba for doing the highest honour in the land to my father. You have shown that democracy has come to stay by the unparalleled feat. The honour you did will never be forgotten by my family.’
This, he said, as the President celebrated the first year of his 2nd term as duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ‘You keep shining light of possibility to every nook and corner of the federation with developmental projects, economic advancement, and innovation in various facets of national life.’
‘Thank you for providing calm leadership and fatherly support during this Covid-19 period. May the Almighty Allah continue to bless you in all endeavors’.
The son of Chief Abiola then requested the President to complete his pronouncement with the official gazette. ‘For immortalizing my father, myself, the family and the pro-democracy movement are forever grateful. However, it is still a work in progress. The pronouncement has not been gazetted and is not actionable as it is. We call on President Buhari to perfect what he has started. This is to make it official by gazetting it so that all other processes can be completed.’
