Tambuwal declares open northern governors wives meeting

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has on Tuesday stressed the need for collective efforts towards addressing the socio-politico and economic challenges facing the northern part of the country.
He stated this while declaring open the quarterly meeting of the Northern governors wives forum at the Council Chamber, Government House Sokoto.
Tambuwal expressed satisfaction that the governors wives are complimenting the efforts of the northern governors to put a stop to the drug abuse among the youths of the North and country in general.
While assuring them of the governors moral and financial supports towards discharging their duties, the governor called on the Northern leaders to joint hand to fight drug abuse destroying the youths of the north in particular and country generally.
Speaking earlier, Chairperson of the forum and Wife of the Bauchi state Governor, Hajiya Hadiza M.A Abubakar, said the forum provides collective effort between the governors and their wives to provide positive change in the lives of the people.
She further added that, the meeting will focus on the menace of drug addiction destroying the youths of the North who are leaders of tomorrow.
Hajiya Hadiza assured that the forum will leave no stone unturned to free the youths from the drug addiction.
The chairperson explained that the forum engages in provision of Education, Healthcare delivery service, Women and Youths empowerment, therefore, called for moral and financial support from the governors to enable them accomplish the task.
In her remarks, Wife of the Sokoto state governor, Hajiya Mariya Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said that they are bothered about the drug abuse among the children and the way the issue is generating concern among parents in the country especially in the north.
She called for collective effort to fight the menace of drug abuse.
The forum has earlier paid a courtesy call to the governor.
