SPECIAL CONSTABULARY NOT BANNED FROM PERFORMING POLICE DUTIES, WEARING UNIFORMS, EXCEPT HANDLING OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION -ZAMFARA CP

The Zamfara State Police Command wishes to debunk a story trending on various social media platforms that the Police Command had banned members of Special Constabulary from wearing uniform and performing other Police duties.
The Story being circulated was completely misleading and capable of demoralising the morale of young and vibrant members of Special Constabulary from working towards the restoration of lasting peace in the state.
The Commissioner of Police CP Abutu Yaro fdc, in his interactive session with the Special Constabulary at Area Commands and Divisions across the State only banned them from bearing firearms and wearing regular police uniform as well as performing duties outside their communities.
In view of the above, the Command urges members of the public to discontenance the online story.
