If criminal elements think they will unleash mayhem on the society and will not allow lawful citizens thrive in peace and tranquility, the Nigerian Police is poised to ensure that their devious activities will not see the light of the day. This is why the Force will continue to empower the men and officers of the Force Intelligence Bureau Intelligence Response Team (FIB-IRT) and other tactical teams.
Trek Africa Newspaper report that, one of the gallant officers at the forefront of the onslaught is SUPOL Ugowe Igbinazaka Joel, the current Coordinator of the FIB-IRT, South-West Annex Office, Lagos. Whosoever has a foot and is a criminal will definitely get a run for his/her life from SP Ugowe. Because he will find such a person, whatsoever the crime may be. SUPOL Joel is a digital Intelligence officer
Born in the ancient city of Benin, Edo State, Igbinazaka attended St. Joseph Primary School, Benin City; Edo College, Benin City; before proceeding to Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma where he graduated with B. Sc. (Hons) Public Administration. Thereafter, he enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1990.
A Supercop, SP Ugowe Igbinazaka Joel
Before his current office, SUPOL Ugowe Joel started out on this policing journey as OC Provost Mopol 2 Lagos. Then, he became the DPO Ilupeju Police Division in Ekiti State Police Command. He was OC Intelligence, Idiroko Border, Ogun State and OC Crack Squad, Lagos State Police Command at various times.
Through his impressive record and diligence, SUPOL Joel moved up the ladder to become the Commander Intelligence, IGP Special Task Force on Anti-Pipelines Vandalism/illegal Bunkering, South West Command. Lagos.
Now, coordinating the efforts of IGP Intelligence Response Team, IRT in South-West, the Police chief is a member of International Association of Chiefs of Police (lACP). He has attended several courses both within and outside the country. This has helped SUPOL Igbinazaka to broaden his knowledge of policing best practices.
