Trek Africa: Who is Senator Bayo Oshinowo to you, can you describe him?
Hon. Idimogu: Late Senator Bayo Oshinowo is somebody who helps people and solve people’s problems. He is a highly-religious person who will quote the Quran and the Bible. One thing I learned from him is his loyalty in the business of politics. He will tell me ‘Jude the best potential in the business of politics is not your education but your loyalty to the party and its leaders’. He is very generous, carries people burdens and a bridge builder. He has really been a reference of good leadership for me. Senator Bayo would make heaven.

Trek Africa: What do you miss about him?
Hon. Idimogu: His leadership role, his advice, his comfort and he is always ready to make you happy.

Trek Africa: The party is going for the elections in Edo and Ondo state. As a politician and also a party person, what do you think of Edo situation right now?
Hon. Idimogu: For me I always believe we have leaders. Yes, there are some crises. But I am happy that the President himself has gotten a lot of information about the situation. Pastor Ize-Iyamu, you know he was from PDP but he is not a pushover and also do not forget that Godwin Obaseki who left is not loyal to leadership. The National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole was his godfather irrespective of the money you have. Although money goes a long way, Adams Oshiomhole brought you in and ensure you came into relevance. Whatever happened, what they should have done is to settle things amicably. His loyalty to the leader was zero, if you really want to survive in politics you must learn how to be loyal. However it is very funny that Obaseki was the same person PDP was talking against but today they have taken him into business. No permanent friend in politics, only permanent business that matters.

Trek Africa: What will be your advice to your party?
Hon. Idimogu: My take is that we are blessed with good leaders in our party so they have the experience, all they need to do is that they should way into the matter, call everyone together and try to solve the problem now that it is still early. Between now and next month, the President and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu should lend their voice. Our other leaders who have wisdom should also way into the matter. What I have always discovered in elections is that party leaders have a very important role to play. Many electorates look up to them for directives.
