The President of Oro Union Students Worldwide, Comrade Etim Etim has stated why Oro students are fully backing Dr. Ekong Sampson for the 2023 Akwa Ibom South Senatorial Seat.

The Oro Students’ endorsement of Dr. Sampson’s senate candidacy, according Comrade Etim is borne out of the conviction Oro Students have that the former Mkpat Enin State Lawmaker was the best man for the Red Chambers job.

Speaking yesterday during a solidarity visit to Dr. Sampson, Comrade Etim said Ekong Sampson was a man whose interest and love for Oro causes were well documented. The Oro students leader praised Barr. Sampson for his love for education and students in general, saying that the former Mkpat Enin Council helmsman was truly students friendly in act and disposition.

Etim further stated unmistakably that the entire Oro Students will stand solidly behind Dr. Sampson as well as other PDP candidates in the forthcoming polls, because he was clearly the best for the senate job, having possessed the requisite experiences, capacity and favoured by zoning.

Responding, Senate hopeful, Barr. Ekong Sampson appreciated Oro students for standing by him, noting that he remains a student at heart. Dr. Sampson who holds the traditional title of ‘Edeghe Nzan Oró'(Good Friend of Oro) assured that when in the Senate, he will run a students friendly representation, noting that he will pursue sustainable welfare packages for students in the senatorial district.

The former State Environment and Petroleum Resources Commissioner said that he was impressed by Oro students’ resolve to be led by their convictions to stand with him as the candidate, who was favoured by the age long zoning arrangement held in the senatorial district. He admonished the students not to be misled by political disruptors who were out to create chaos and lawlessness in the region by going against the zoning tides, observing that zoning grants access to opportunity for everyone.

Present at the brief parley were the Director-General of the Ekong Sampson Campaign Organisation, Sir Michael Essang, Campaign Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Hon. Nkereuwem James, a prominent Oro youth activist, Asukwo Effiong Bassey a.k.a.Don Mike, members of the Oro Union Students Worldwide Executives, among others.
