Founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has hailed the decisive steps taken by popular yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho over the space of insecurity accentuated by the herdsmen marauding the nooks and crannies of the nation.

According to a press statement made available to Trek Africa Newspaper by Satguru Maharaj Ji’s Media Aide, “As we are all aware the intractable issue of insecurity in the land accentuated by herdsmen marauding the nooks and crannies of the nation, who have been linked with all kinds of criminalities, ranging from banditry, kidnappings, wanton killings of farmers, rape, destruction of farmlands, burning of homes, sack of communities from their ancestral lands, among other sundry acts of terrorism, recently took a new dimension with the surprise emergence of Sunday Igboho, the “Omojomolo” of the moment,” Satguru Maharaj Ji stated.

He also warned Nigerians not to politicise appointment of the new Service Chiefs.
Maharaj Ji said in the statement: “Since the issue of security is highly critical to our collective well-being, we must see reason not to politicise the appointment because we must trust and believe in Mr. President’s wisdom as having acted in the best interest of the nation.

“Besides, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the President has the right to make the appointment and we should not see it as appointment per se, but as normal routine redeployment within the top echelon of the military brass since they are career officers and men of the Armed Forces.”
He called on Nigerians to extend their hands of cooperation to the President and the Service Chiefs to ensure that they deliver on their onerous service of securing the nation, bearing in mind that the price of eternal liberty is vigilance.

Maharaj Ji said one way to check the rampaging herdsmen from kidnapping, raping, killing and invading farms in the Southwest is for the governors to appoint Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Igboho, to head the region’s security outfit, ‘Amotekun’.

He said: “In view of Sunday Igboho’s commitment to the security of our people, there is nothing wrong bringing him in to head the ‘Amotekun’ or any strategic security organ of the government because the situation we are facing now demands calls for the use of patriotic and selfless soldiers to free the race from the evil grip of neo-colonialist agents.”

He said there is the need to halt the unjustified campaign of calumny on Igboho, saying he should be given the honour he deserves.

Maharaj Ji said Igboho’s bravery is more appreciated because some of the governors were afraid to speak out against the dastardly acts by herdsmen on innocent, law-abiding citizens’ right in their ancestral homes.

He said: “The creation is complete and nature has its way of throwing up a David to frontally take on Goliath during times of distress.

“We are glad that Igboho’s steps have no doubt, facilitated compliance to the Ondo State governor’s order that genuine herders willing to do business in the state should register with relevant government agency. We, therefore, urge other states across the nation, particularly down south, to adopt the measures as a template for curbing the criminal activities of herders, in order to bring sanctity to the states.”

He condemned the reported burning of Sunday Igboho’s home in Ibadan, saying the act is highly condemnable and that “those involved in this act of barbarism must be ready to reap the fruit of their wickedness exactly a year after the act.”

Maharaj Ji also hailed the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for his effort to rid the state of rogue herdsmen, who indulge in bizarre acts of brigandage and terrorism, saying that singular bravery has earned him the appellation of People’s Governor.
