SANWO-OLU MOURNS ISLAMIC SCHOLAR, SHEIKH IMAM TIJANI GBAJABIAMILA

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has mourned the death of Islamic scholar and Head of Imam Ratibi of Lagos, Sheikh Imam Tijani Olubodun Shehu Gbajabiamila.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, described the death of Sheikh Imam Tijani Gbajabiamila as a big loss to the Muslim community and Lagos State.
The Governor said the late Olori Ratibi of Lagos left an indelible mark on the Muslim community and he would be sorely missed by family, friends and religious associates.
He said: “On behalf of my family, the people, and the Government of Lagos State, I commiserate with the immediate family, friends, associates, and the entire Muslim community over the passing of the Olori Ratibi of Lagos, Sheikh Imam Tijani Olubodun Shehu Gbajabiamila.
“He was a dedicated and committed Muslim scholar, respected teacher and passionate religious and community leader. During his lifetime, he played a vital role in shaping the spiritual and social fabric of our society.
“I pray that Allah grants the repose of the late Sheikh Imam Tijani Olubodun Shehu Gbajabiamila, Aljannah Firdaus, and grant his family, friends, associates, and loved ones, as well as the Muslim community, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
