Rivers Dispute: Wike Refutes Allegations Of Demanding N100bn From Governor Fubara

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of making false allegations against him. In a Friday interview on Channels Television, Wike rejected claims that he had demanded large sums of money from Fubara, labeling them as untrue.
Wike, who previously served as Governor of Rivers State, had supported Fubara’s candidacy in the 2023 gubernatorial election. However, their relationship has since deteriorated, leading to a public spat marked by mutual accusations.
“They’re alleging that I’m requesting N20 billion or even N100 billion. It’s all lies,” Wike said. “I supported Fubara’s rise to power, and now he has abandoned those who stood by him.”
The conflict between the two figures continues to intensify as both sides exchange criticisms.
