As Nigerian business magnate, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., marks his 72nd birthday, glowing tributes have poured in from prominent African leaders, including Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, who hailed his transformative contributions to the continent’s economic growth and development.

In separate messages, both leaders praised Dr. Adenuga’s entrepreneurial excellence, philanthropy, and bold investments across Africa and beyond, describing him as a beacon of inspiration for the continent.

Former President Mahama lauded Dr. Adenuga as a “shining example of vision, resilience, and extraordinary accomplishment,” commending his ability to build multi-sector business empires that continue to drive socio-economic advancement across Africa.

“Dr. Adenuga’s leadership and philanthropy continue to inspire generations of Africans,” Mahama stated, noting that his success reflects the limitless potential of African enterprise when guided by purpose and excellence.

Similarly, President Tinubu extolled Dr. Adenuga’s humility, diligence, and groundbreaking achievements across key industries such as telecommunications, banking, and oil and gas. He described the Globacom founder as a visionary who has reshaped entire sectors and empowered millions.

“Through determination and hard work, he built businesses that have created thousands of jobs for our people,” Tinubu said.

Highlighting one of Dr. Adenuga’s landmark accomplishments, the President noted that Globacom’s introduction of per-second billing revolutionised Nigeria’s telecommunications industry, expanding access to mobile and digital services for millions.

Tinubu also praised the impact of Conoil in the oil and gas sector, saying the company’s performance demonstrates that indigenous firms can successfully compete with global counterparts while promoting Nigeria’s energy independence.

He further recognised Dr. Adenuga’s investments across Africa and in Europe, which have earned him global acclaim and prestigious international honours, including the French title of Commander of the Legion of Honour and Ghana’s Companion of the Star of Ghana.

“As a nation, we are grateful for Dr. Adenuga’s unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s prosperity and Africa’s economic transformation,” Tinubu concluded.

Dr. Adenuga, who is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential businessmen, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the continent’s future through innovation, strategic investments, and impactful philanthropy.
