President Tinubu’s Ceremonial Reception in United Kingdom: A Moment of National Pride

By Hon. Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR

We can only awaken those who are sincerely asleep from their slumber; no one can awaken those who only pretend to be asleep.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an uncommon leader. A leader of his caliber appears in a nation only once in a while. Unfortunately, some people may not realize the magnitude of such leadership until it has passed them by.

Today, we thank Almighty God that the global community is beginning to see what many of us have long seen in President Tinubu—even if some Nigerians still refuse to acknowledge it. Those of us who understand his vision and leadership will never remain silent about it.

Others are free to continue their criticisms, but the facts speak for themselves.

President Tinubu’s achievements are making global headlines and drawing international attention.

The ceremonial reception accorded to Nigeria’s President in the United Kingdom is not merely a personal honour; it is a recognition that reflects positively on Nigeria as a nation. Such a moment deserves national appreciation and celebration, regardless of ethnic, political, or religious differences. President Tinubu has made Nigeria proud.

The respect being shown by the international community is not based on sentiment.

It is a recognition of his leadership competence, his strategic handling of national matters, and his diplomatic engagement with the global community. These are qualities that the world acknowledges and respects.

There is little left to debate. President Tinubu has begun dismantling the old patterns of governance and replacing them with a new, transformative and multidimensional system designed to reposition Nigeria for sustainable progress.

While many around the world have set aside sentiment and recognized these realities, some people—particularly within Nigeria—still hold firmly to emotional or partisan perspectives.

Yet the truth remains evident.
Members of the international community who value humility, diplomacy, and constructive engagement have chosen to build relationships with him respectfully. Others may attempt to approach him with pressure or arrogance, but the President has consistently demonstrated the wisdom to respond strategically, engaging every situation with discernment.

President Tinubu’s achievements have already silenced many critics.

However, those who are determined to oppose him will likely continue to do so. In response, many of us have chosen to stand firmly and passionately in support of his leadership.

We will continue to speak what we believe to be the truth, defend it, promote it, and advocate for it.

Indeed, the time is coming for Africa to take a stronger position in global leadership.

Nigeria, often regarded as the heart of Africa, has a vital role to play in that future. Under the leadership of President Tinubu, that vision can become reality. We believe that divine guidance continues to direct and protect his leadership, despite the many challenges and criticisms that accompany it.

President Tinubu is a committed democrat, a visionary leader, and, in our view, a blessing to Nigeria granted by the Almighty.
Recent developments, including the events in the United Kingdom, further highlight the significance of his leadership at this moment in Nigeria’s history. If his tenure had ended earlier, others might easily have claimed credit for the reforms currently underway.

This may explain why some political coalitions are eager to take power prematurely. They recognize that President Tinubu has already initiated structural changes capable of transforming Nigeria’s future, and they fear that these achievements will define his legacy.

However, Nigerians are increasingly well informed.

The reform agenda initiated by President Tinubu must be allowed to reach completion. Those who seek leadership should patiently await their own opportunity through the proper democratic process.

Nigeria stands at a pivotal moment, and with patience, unity, and continued reforms, the nation can achieve the progress its citizens deserve.

Signed
Honourable Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje
