President Tinubu launches 2,000 tractors, 9,072 specialized farming implements under Renewed Hope Agriculture Mechanization Programme in Abuja

In September 2024, President Tinubu approved the award of a contract worth $117.83 million and N28.43 billion for the procurement of tractors, machinery, spare parts and other agricultural equipment for the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM).
The contract included signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with American firm John Deere to supply Nigeria with approximately 2,000 tractors annually over the next five years, with the first batch now delivered.
The agricultural equipment launched by Tinubu under the programme include:
