President Tinubu Celebrates Dele Alake at 69, Hails Minister as Loyal Ally and Patriot

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has eulogised his long-time ally and Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Dele Alake, as he marked his 69th birthday, describing him as a patriot, consummate strategist, and loyal friend whose service to Nigeria spans journalism, governance, and national development.
In a congratulatory message released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu extolled Alake’s dedication to public service and unwavering loyalty over the decades. He praised the minister’s current efforts to reposition Nigeria’s solid minerals sector as a major revenue driver in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“On this special day, I pray that Almighty God will continue to bless Dele with good health, wisdom, and strength,” President Tinubu stated. “He has remained a committed, loyal, and outstanding ally for several decades. His steadfastness and unyielding commitment to national development and progress stand him out as a patriot.”
The President recalled his long years of friendship and partnership with Alake, highlighting his exceptional skills in public communication and his record of service as a journalist and strategist.
Dr. Alake, widely recognised for his contributions to public communication and governance, is now steering reforms in the mining sector to boost investments and formalise artisanal operations, with the goal of making solid minerals a key contributor to Nigeria’s economic diversification.
