In a time when Nigeria desperately needed a bold leader, Providence smiled on us and gave us Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The truth is unfolding, and slowly but surely, the naysayers are being silenced by the resounding echoes of progress.

*Once Again, Peter Obi Lied to You*

During a recent interview on Arise TV, Mr. Peter Obi, a well-known merchant of misleading statistics, dished out his usual plate of falsehoods. He claimed, quite wrongly, that the removal of fuel subsidy was mishandled, and that Nigeria’s debt profile has worsened under President Tinubu. But facts, unlike propaganda, do not lie.

*Fuel Subsidy Removal: A Strategic Masterstroke*

Under President Tinubu’s visionary leadership, Nigeria took the brave step of removing fuel subsidies. The result? Deregulation has begun to yield visible benefits. The international price of crude oil has dropped, and Nigerians can expect a corresponding reduction in petrol prices. This is how free markets function. Let prices be driven by supply and demand—not artificial government intervention.

President Tinubu’s decision wasn’t just courageous, it was correct. Nigeria is now saving billions and redirecting them toward developmental projects, instead of enriching a corrupt cabal.

*Foreign Exchange Reserves: From Weakness to Strength*

When President Tinubu took office on May 29, 2023, he inherited a net foreign exchange reserve of just $3.99 billion from General Buhari. Today, through sound policy and decisive action, that figure has grown to a staggering $23.11 billion—a 479.20% increase.

This incredible leap is because the era of subsidizing petrol and the Naira is over. Market forces now dictate our economic path, and the results speak volumes.

*Debt Reduction Under Tinubu: A Historic First*

*Let’s talk numbers—real numbers.*

On May 29, 2023, Nigeria’s total public debt stood at $113.42 billion. Fast forward to the end of 2024, and that number has dropped to $94.24 billion. This means Nigeria’s debt reduced under President Tinubu. This is unheard of in recent Nigerian history.

Contrast this with Argentina—a country often praised by Obi’s supporters—which is now broke and owing $266.17 billion.

*IMF Rankings Don’t Lie*

According to the latest IMF data, Nigeria is nowhere near the top of the world’s most indebted nations. Not in the top 10, 20, or even 40. Nigeria ranks 49th. So, where exactly is this “debt crisis” Obi is talking about? Perhaps, it only exists in his imagination.

*Inflation is Falling, Food Prices Stabilizing*

The combination of subsidy removal, Naira flotation, and debt reduction is reshaping Nigeria’s economy. Inflation has fallen dramatically from 34.80% to 24.48% by February 2025. Food prices are beginning to stabilize, and the economy is gradually recovering from years of distortion.

*Local Governments are Flourishing Under Tinubu*

President Tinubu’s push for Local Government autonomy is transforming governance at the grassroots. Local councils are doing what state governments once monopolized.

Take Lagos for example: In Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Chairman Dele Osinowo has delivered over 100 housing units, built two new schools, constructed an ultramodern market, and is now completing a massive office complex. Compare that to Anambra State, where Governor Soludo is celebrating the commissioning of a single market in Ekwulobia.

Imagine if the reverse happened—if a Lagos Governor was opening a market while an Anambra LG chairman was completing housing estates and ultramodern schools. Peter Obi would be screaming from the rooftops and dancing naked in the streets. But now? Silence. Not even a whisper.

*The Evidence is Overwhelming—Tinubu is Working*

The data is clear. The policies are working. Nigeria is on the move. While critics like Peter Obi continue to peddle misinformation and false hope, President Tinubu is delivering real, measurable change.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not just a President—he is the leader Nigeria has long waited for.

Let the doubters continue to grumble. The truth is marching on.
