The Lagos State Police Command has recorded significant successes in crime prevention, control, and management under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh.
Speaking at press briefing in Lagos today, CP Jimoh sad the Command has recovered stolen vehicles, exotic firearms, and ammunition, and has made notable progress in preventing and detecting crimes throughout Lagos State, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

According to him, the police have recovered a total of 36 vehicles linked to a range of criminal activities, including fraudulent acts, advance fee fraud, and vehicle snatching.

He said the vehicles were recovered in various parts of Lagos State, and the Command is calling on members of the public who have reported their vehicles missing or stolen to come forward with proof of ownership to identify and claim their vehicles.

He expressed his appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for providing the Lagos State Police Command with state-of-the-art crime-combating equipment, technology, and other logistics leading to these success stories. He also appreciated the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support and logistics, which have made the job of securing Lagos State much easier.

The Command recently arrested Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso, who has been linked to several murders, including the killing of Bolakale, Ramadan, and Aminat.
The suspect has voluntarily confessed to the serial killings and admitted possession of the recovered nine automatic and lethal firearms.

The Command has also created Anti-Cultism Squads in all Area Commands within Lagos State, which have led to the arrest of 23 suspected members of various cult groups.

The CP said the suspects are currently under investigation and will be charged to court accordingly.
The Command has also made significant progress in clamping down on sexual and gender-based violence, with the recent arrest of 52 suspects, 44 of which have been charged to court, while 8 are still under investigation.

The Command has recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including high-caliber assault rifles, locally fabricated firearms, live ammunition, and other dangerous weapons used by criminal elements. The suspects linked to these crimes are currently under investigation and will be charged to court accordingly.
He assured that the Lagos State Police Command is committed to excellence in crime prevention, control, and management.

“The Command recognizes the importance of equipment and resources in preventing and detecting crimes. CP Jimoh explained that the police will continue to work to ensure that personnel have the necessary equipment and resources to perform their duties effectively.
