As part of activities to commemorate the 2020 International Widows Day, Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, wife of Deputy Governor, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat and other dignitaries attends the distribution of financial relieve package to One thousands five hundred (1500) Widows organized by Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

According the organizers, the palliative is designed to assuage the difficulties suffered by women, especially widows and their dependants as a result of Covid-19 pandemic which the world is presently contending with.
It stated, “Widows suffer injustice, deprivation and poverty, and every effort must be made by critical stakeholders through multi-sectoral approach to give them the necessary support to live normal lives and fulfill their aspirations.”
