The Oyo State Police Command says it has busted a suspected drug operation with the arrest of two alleged peddlers and the recovery of eight parcels of suspected Canadian Loud hidden inside a car tyre.
The operation followed intelligence received by the command on September 2 about a suspected drug dealer allegedly using a vulcanising workshop to conceal illicit substances.
Acting on the directive of Commissioner of Police CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, operatives of the Anti-Narcotics Section stormed the location and arrested two suspects.
Police said the suspected Canadian Loud was found concealed inside a car tyre, while a vulcanising machine allegedly used in the concealment was also recovered.
The suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation and are currently assisting investigators in tracing other members of the alleged drug network.
According to the command, the suspects will be prosecuted after investigations are concluded.
The police described the operation as part of its broader campaign against drug trafficking, warning that the circulation of illicit substances could contribute to violence and other criminal activities.
The command called on members of the public to provide credible information to assist security agencies in dismantling criminal networks across Oyo State.
