OYETOLA IS ENGINE ROOM OF THE PROGRESSIVES – TINUBU
Osun State APC Governorship Candidate; Alh. Gboyega Oyetola
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the governorship candidate of the party in 22 September, 2018 gubernatorial election in the State of Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola , as the engine room of the progressives during the struggle for June 12 actualisation.
The former Governor of Lagos State made this public during the mega rally of the APC campaign for Oyetola at the Osogbo Stadium on Thursday ahead of the governorship poll.
Tinubu said that in any struggle, some people are actively involved in the forefront, while some people will be working behind the scene serving as backbone and engine room for those at the war front. He noted that Oyetola, an Engineer, is in the category of those working behind the scene for the activitists during the struggle for the actualisation of June 12 struggle in Nigeria.
“Oyetola is the engine room for the progressive during June 12 struggle. He was a pillar for those of us in the fore front during the heat of the struggle. So for him to tell us that he wanted to become the Governor of the State of Osun, we were so happy to give him our support.
“We want the people of Osun to see Oyetola’s coming as a blessing because we know him, he is trusted and a tested politician. He is a builder. I want the youth of the State of Osun to be rest assured that job opportunities are coming when Oyetola becomes the Governor,” Tinubu said.
The National Leader of the APC also disclosed the reason the party used direct primary for the primaries to select the candidate of the APC for the governorship election, adding that direct primary was used to test the popularity of each of the aspirants.
“We want to give the party members opportunity to select the candidate of their choice, and I must commend members of our party in the State of Osun for being faithful to the party and freely giving Oyetola the mandate.”
