OUR PRIDE IS LAGOS, LET’S PROTECT IT – BAMIGBOYE

By Trek Africa Newspaper

Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye

We have witnessed another history in Nigeria in terms of youth protest for betterment of the Nation.

It got out of hands as hoodlums and miscreants took over, thereby, leading to looting, vandalizing and burning properties belonging to public and private institutions.

This has led to a number of deaths and leaving many injured in Lagos state and across Nigeria.

In addition, billions of naira was lost and many may find it difficult to rebuild their businesses as well as loss of jobs.

Lagos is our pride and there is need to protect it. Our heritage need be protected and together, we can achieve it.

Reports showed that many properties were looted, vandalized and some burnt such as police stations, radio and TV stations, hospitals, shopping malls, event halls, hotels, BRT buses, school buses, local government building, warehouses, covid19 palliatives, high court buildings, Oba of Lagos palace, Lagos Theatre Oregun, etc.

This is avoidable but we need to move on. Therefore, we appeal to all youths in the state that their demands will be attended to and it’s time to protect our culture, heritage and pride.

Lagos is our pride, the city which serve as the commercial centre for many people locally and internationally.

Youths are the leaders of tomorrow, and the protest will benefit unborn children and the present youths.

The hijacked protest caused Lagos state a lot of damages and your support is needed to rebuild and restore Lagos back.

Peace is important and our pride, our culture and heritage must be protected.

Let’s save Lagos for a greater Lagos.

Igbega Ipinle Eko, Ajumose gbogbo wa ni.

Signed:
Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye
Executive Chairman,
Mushin Local Government.
