On behalf of the International Community of the Civil Societies, we are openly mourning the exit of key individuals in our midst starting from Madam Alice Odumakin, aged and caring mother of late Comrade Yinka Odumakin, the Matriarch passed on yesterday’s morning in Ikorodu, Lagos State, at the age of 93. Our highly revered Comrade (Dr) Olaoye Oluwole Sanda, Leader of Apapo Omo Odu’a, died last week at the age of 78 during brief illness. The good name you left behind will continue to ring bell in the hears of all of us in the Civil Societies’ Community. Reason being that, our Leader touched many lives during his lifetime and ours are not exception. Your leadership inputs in the preparation for the success of the Yoruba Unity Summit held in 2017 inside Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Mokola, Ibadan, under the Chairmanship of Chief Afe Babalola, SAN; Dr Kunle Olajide, Secretary, Yoruba Council of Elders, was the Chairman of the Organising Committee, remain evergreen in our collective memory. You were a sound Lecturer at the Polytechnics, Ibadan, and among your good Students then are Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, a key Leader in Yoruba Unity Forum, Princess Bisi Sangodoyin and her Husband, to mention just few. You were soft spoken, highly respectful and a Perfect gentleman. In leadership succession of Apapo Omo Odu’a, we had Comrade Ola – Oni, Comrade Baba Omojola, you and all of you left the indellible footprints in the sand of time. Good night!
Our dear friend, widely known across length and breadth of this Country in the struggles for A Better Nation, Comrade Mazi Okwuokwu, an Indigene of Anambra State, about 2 weeks ago succumbed to the cold hands of death after battling with kidney’s disease and homogroph of his heart for over 2 years. We, friends, never thought, it could be this tough to the point of death despite our continuous intervention but “man proposes, God disposes”.
May God Almighty grant these 3 beautiful souls sweet repose, Amen!
