ONE YEAR ON THE THRONE: IRU/V.I LCDA CHAIRMAN, RASHEEDAT ADU CELEBRATES HRM OBA OMOGBOLAHAN LAWAL

It’s been one year since the Oniru of Iru, HRM Oba Omogbolahan Lawal the Abisogun II mounted the throne of his forefathers and it has indeed been a year filled with blessings, joy and development for the natives and residents of Iruland and its environs.

Showering accolades on the iconic leadership of the monarch, the Executive Chairman of Iru/VI Local Council Development Area, Hon. Princess Rasheedat Abiodun Adu established: ‘Without mincing words I can say we are blessed to have you as you’ve portray to us that you’re not only a King but a King who has the love and concern of the people at heart.’

Conveying the message of the entire council, the Chairman of the Elites, Hon. Adu added: ‘On behalf of the Executive, Management, Legislators, staff and the people of Iru kingdom we celebrate with you now and always Sir, may you reign forever be a blessing to us all as you live longer on the throne.’

It would be noted that before the ascension to the throne, the Lagos monarch has previously served the Lagos State Government in various capacities including being the Honorable Commissioner for Housing under the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu where he oversaw the handling of the food needs of the indigent in Lagos state in the height of the lockdown necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
