Ondo Governor, Aiyedatiwa Unveils Amotekun Tactical Command Centre

The Ondo State Security Network Agency has unveiled a command, control centre and training auditorium as part of moves to enhance the fight against criminality in the state.
While inaugurating the facilities on Monday in Akure, the state capital, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa disclosed that the development will improve operational efficiency, intelligence coordination, and officers’ tactical readiness.
According to Aiyedatiwa, modern security work demands not only physical capability but also knowledge, discipline, as well as controlled spaces for tactical and theoretical training.
He commended the Amotekun Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, for the commitment and sacrifice invested in constructing the command and control centre.
Aiyedatiwa had recently approved the recruitment of 500 additional personnel with the pledged for continued provision of logistics, training.
The governor, who paid tribute to the late former governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, described him as a visionary whose courage he stated facilitated the creation of the Amotekun Corps alongside other governors in the south-west, maintaining that security governance is the responsibility of every citizen.
On his part, the Amotekun Commander stated that the Corps’ evolution since 2020 demonstrates that locally driven security structures, supported by political will, can effectively tackle emerging threats.
