Dr. Ogunsan continued: ‘You started a movement in policing in this country that no one has done before. You plan to tackle the problem from the foundation by going to the grassroots. I want to commend you for the passion and determination to reposition the Nigeria Police Force’.
In her response to the man she referred to as ‘partner in progress’, the Minister applauded the Lagos State Government for the efforts noting that ‘in the state that has the most commands, I know it will be a tough work. By my findings today, I know that we don’t only have the biggest Force in Africa, we have the best. I saw dedication, diligence, and commitment to Project Nigeria.’
‘I don’t know what we will do in this country without Nigeria Police Force. They have continued to hold this country together doing so much with so little. I urge you to continue because collectively we have so much work to do’, she told the policemen and officers of Lagos State Police Command.
Hon. Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim added: ‘We all know what we need to do but the reason we have not done it is because it will cost a lot but it costs us more if we don’t implement the reforms. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu told us that we cannot continue to spend our people, we have to find the money to spend at the ministers’ retreat. Yes, it will cost us a lot but under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the reforms will start.’
