Ogungbe charges Nigerian youth to explore big opportunities in entertainment industry – unveils Kennis Music Bites

Mr Kenny Ogungbe, Chairman, Kennis Music Group, has urged old and young music talents to leverage on the new and existing opportunities available in the music space and entertainment industry as a whole.

Ogungbe stated this at the the first edition of the Kennis Music Bites, a musical cum lifestyle conference, held at Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conference is tagged ‘The Next Episode’ .

Ogungbe said the Kennis Music Bites , was centered on new brand unveiling, social gifting and payment platform that leveraged on music and all logic of engagement to celebrate mobile consumers.

“With the aim of creating wealth empowerment for Nigerians and the community through entertainment.”
He said: “with the Kennis Music Bites, it is our belief that by the end of the day, participants would be able to fully harness the new and existing opportunities available in the music space and entertainment industry as a whole.”

“Kennis Music and its affiliate brands are in a collaboration with notable institutions including Parallex Bank and The Place, to produce an Electronic Gold Card that will serve as a multipurpose lifestyle debit card and which can be used at different places.

Earlier in his address, Mr Femi Bakre, the Managing Director, Parallex Bank, commended the organisers, Kenny Ogungbe, Dayo ‘DI’ Adeneye and Idowu ‘ID’ Ogungbe for their tenacity and innovative ideas which had helped in the phenomenal growth of the entertainment industry in Nigeria.

He expressed the desire of his bank in collaboration with Kennis Music to take the entertainment industry to the next level that would ultimately create wealth and empower many talented Nigerians and the community through entertainment.

Similarly ID Ogungbe unveiled various activations planned to hold later in the year which included the the 22nd edition of the Kennis Music Festival, KinQs of Lagos Search, Music Bank platform among others.

Speaking on the Kennis Music Festival, ID Ogungbe explained that unlike the previous editions, this year would come in parts with series of concerts tagged ‘Sunset Over Lagos’, ‘Sunset Over Abuja’, ‘Sunset over Port-Harcourt’ and lastly ‘Sunset over Campuses’ holding across select Nigerian campuses.

He explained that the idea behind the KinQs of Lagos competition were winners would be determined by the fans is the search for the biggest Nigerian entertainer either in music, comedy or acting.

According to him, three top crowned KinQs would be rewarded with the N1 billion, N500 million and N250 million respectively.
ID, fondly referred to as ‘The Prof’, also revealed that Kennis Music is foraying into music distribution.

“The music company is not going into the distribution as a competition with existing streaming companies but to add values and help distribute music for several music acts using a new found technology and means.
NAN reports that the conference had music enthusiasts, artists, and stakeholders in attendance.

Among the celebrities and dignitaries are; Mayor Akinpelu, Mrs Mojisola Dokpesi; Chike Ogeah; MCSN boss Mayo Ayilaran; Kingsley James; Praiz; Annie Idibia; Eedris Abdulkareem.

Others are; Afrima boss Mike Dada, Kingsley James, Debo Adebowale popularly known as Mr Macaroni, Zaki Adzee; Felix Duke; May Yul-Edochie among others.
